Questions and answers
Does my money actually reach the family?
Every payment out of a campaign is listed on its page with the date, what it was for and a photo of the receipt. When the home is finished we publish the full cost breakdown and before-and-after photos in Our work.
How much goes to running costs?
No more than 10% of what's raised. That's the legal limit set by Indonesia's Ministry of Social Affairs (Reg. 8/2021), and we show running costs separately from money spent on homes.
Are you a registered charity?
Yes. Yayasan Bedah Rumah Indonesia is a registered Indonesian foundation (yayasan) holding a public fundraising permit (PUB) from the Ministry of Social Affairs, number 123/HUK-PS/2026 (contoh).
Can I give from outside Indonesia?
Today our payment options (QRIS and virtual accounts) work with Indonesian banks and e-wallets. If you're abroad and would like to give, email us and we'll help you make an international transfer.
What currency are amounts in?
Indonesian rupiah (Rp). Your bank or card provider will convert the amount if you pay from a foreign account.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes. A numbered receipt is emailed to you once the payment clears, and you can download it any time from your account. Receipts are available in English.
Can I give in someone else's name?
Yes. Tick “Give in someone else's name” on the donation form, for example for a parent or in memory of someone. Their name appears on the receipt.
Do I need an account?
No. An account is only useful if you want to see your giving across devices, set up a monthly gift, or create a fundraising link.
What's a fundraising link?
Your own link to one campaign that you can share with friends. Every gift made through it counts towards your total on the campaign's fundraiser leaderboard.
What if a campaign raises more than it needs?
The extra goes to another home in the same programme, and we record it in the spending report.
